WANTED: Foster carers to provide care to children and young people at times of crisis.
Emergency foster carers should be open to receiving children into their care at very short notice and outside of normal office hours i.e. evenings and weekends.
It is envisaged that the maximum length of stay for a child would be up to 72 hours.
We are looking for people who would like to become foster carers and who could provide a warm and caring environment to children and young people who have experienced trauma, neglect and abuse. Foster carers must have a spare bedroom and one carer should be at home fulltime, be able to work from home or have a very flexible job.
Foster carers will receive a financial remuneration for providing this service. All applicants must be willing to commit to fostering with the Emergency Place of Safety Service, which is delivered by Five Rivers Fostering for at least twelve months.
Assessment and full training will be provided to all applicants. All emergency foster carers will have access to the 24 hour on-call support service provided by Five Rivers Ireland.
We are also looking for general foster carers to care for children on a short to long term basis from 0 – 18 years all over Ireland.
