Five Rivers Fostering at the IFCO 2014 European Conference

Five Rivers Fostering had a stand set up stand at the 2014 International Fostering Care Organisation Conference in Waterford. Five Rivers staff also ran a ‘Keeping Siblings Connected’ workshop at the event, which focussed on the importance of maintaining links with members of a foster child's birth family.

Skibb Scenes Presents a Screening of "Bugsy Malone" (Skibbereen, September 6th)

In collaboration with of A taste of West Cork Food Festival, Skill Scenes will be screening "Bugsy Malone", a musical spoof of ganster films featuring an all-child cast, on Saturday 6th September at 7pm in Skibbereen Town Hall. There will be music in the foyer prior to the screening, an introduction by Lord David Puttnam, and custard tarts will be served to theatre-goers.

Tickets cost €5 and can be booked through the Family Resource Centre in Skibereen (028 23572), or through the Skibb Scenes Facebook page. For more information please see the attached poster.

Five Rivers Fostering in the Farmers Journal

FIVE RIVERS FOSTERING is an independent fostering agency. We have foster families all over Ireland. We work closely with Tusla THE CHILD AND FAMILY AGENCY, to provide family based care for children and young people who cannot live at home. We provide foster care to children and young people up to the age of 18 years.

Kilkenny Support House Open Day (August 6th)

Thanks to all the Five Rivers foster families who attended our open day in our new Support House in Kilkenny on the 6th of August. It was great to see so many turn up and enjoy the chat, the food and the activities organised by our team. 

New Support House (Kilkenny)

Five Rivers Fostering's brand new support house has been opened in Kilkenny, where training and support will be offered to all who work with Five Rivers. Family access, young people's support groups and therapy will also be located at the house.

Five Rivers Family Support Day in Pudden Hill (July 16th)

The families and children of Five Rivers Fostering had a great support day in Puddin Hill on the 16th of July. The staff team at Puddin Hill looked after our every need and have offered a 15% reduction to all Five Rivers Families who want to use the centre in the future.

Five Rivers Fostering at Tullamore Show (August 10th)

Five Rivers Fostering will have a stand at the Tullamore Show, which will be taking place on Sunday 10th August from 9am - 6pm in Church Street, Tullamore, County Offaly. If you would like more information on fostering and becoming a foster carer, please feel free to visit our stand and speak to us.

Dr James Reilly, T.D. is named as the new Minister for Children and Youth Affairs

Welcoming the appointment of James Reilly, T.D. as Minister for Children and Youth Affairs, Chairperson of Tusla – Child and Family Agency, Norah Gibbons says:

'ReMoved' - a short film of a girl placed into foster care

'ReMoved' is a short film that follows the emotional story of a young girl who has been taken from her home and placed into foster care. It was originally created to raise awareness and aid in the training for foster carers.
