Bereaved Children's Week runs from the 14th to the 18th of November.

ICBN members and other interested people are holding 18 different events including  talks in libraries, parishes, schools, information stands, coffee mornings and a remembrance event for local communities.

The Defence Forces Open Day will take place within the grounds of Farmleigh House on Sunday the 9th of July 2017 from 11am to 5pm.
 
Highlights will include career stands, weapons displays, a parachute display and capability demonstrations from the Army, Air Corps & Naval Service.
 
This provides an opportunity for the public to gain insight into careers that are available in the Defence Forces.

Many children in care will have experienced a number of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs). This article by Jared Keller will have a lot of relevance for the experiences of foster children. How foster carers and other adults with responsibility for children understand behaviour will greatly inform the quality of their response. This can turn situations of stress or difficulty into opportunities for learning and development for children and carers.
